This policy explains what Slougy collects, why, who else sees it, and what you can do about it. It covers the Slougy mobile app and the services behind it.

Who we are

Slougy is a marketplace where people post everyday tasks and other people are paid to do them. When you use Slougy we are the controller of your personal data.

You can reach us about anything in this policy at .

What we collect

Account details you give us: your first and last name, email address, profile photo if you add one, a short bio if you write one, and the country you are based in.

Location: the approximate position of your device if you allow it, and the addresses you type when posting a task. A task address is shown publicly on the map so people can decide whether it is near them — do not put anything in it you would not want a stranger to read.

Task content: titles, descriptions, budgets, schedules and any photos you attach.

Messages: the conversations you have with the other person on a task, including attachments.

Reviews: the rating, comment and photos you leave about someone, and the ones they leave about you. Reviews are public.

Payment data: Slougy never sees or stores your full card number. Card details go directly to Stripe. We keep a record of amounts, currencies, dates and Stripe identifiers so we can show your wallet and support you if something goes wrong.

Device data: a push notification token if you allow notifications, and basic diagnostic information about crashes and errors.

Why we use it

To run the service you asked for: showing tasks near you, letting you apply, letting you message the other person, holding and releasing payment, and paying you out.

To keep people safe: investigating reports, enforcing our terms, and preventing fraud and abuse.

To meet legal obligations, including financial record-keeping.

To send you notifications about your own tasks, messages and payments. You can turn push notifications off in Settings or in your device settings at any time.

Who else sees your data

Other users see what the product is built to show them: your name, photo, bio, area, rating and reviews, the tasks you post, and the messages you send to the person you are working with. They do not see your email address, your exact device location, or anything about your payment methods.

We use a small number of processors, each of which handles only what it needs:

• Supabase — the database, file storage and sign-in behind the app.

• Stripe — payments, escrow, payouts and identity verification.

• Expo — delivery of push notifications.

• Google Maps — map tiles and turning addresses into coordinates.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

How long we keep it

Your account data is kept while your account exists. Delete your account in Settings and your profile, tasks, messages and reviews are removed.

Financial records are kept for as long as the law requires us to keep them, which is normally seven years. This is the one category we cannot delete on request, because we are required to hold it.

Reports about other users are kept so that a pattern of behaviour can be seen over time, even if the account that made the report is later closed.

Your rights

You can see and correct most of your data directly in the app, in Edit profile and Settings.

You can delete your account from Settings at any time. This is permanent.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to a copy of your data, to object to certain uses, or to complain to a data protection authority. Write to us and we will help.

Children

Slougy is for adults. You must be at least 18 to use it. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we delete such an account when we learn of it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version.
