Terms of Service

Slougy · last updated 29 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Slougy. By using the app you accept them. Please read the sections on payment and on who is responsible for a task — they are the ones that matter most.

Who can use Slougy

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. You must give us accurate information and keep your account secure. One account per person.

What Slougy is, and is not

Slougy is a place where people find each other. The agreement to do a task is between the person who posts it and the person who does it. We are not a party to it, we are not an employer, and the people doing tasks are not our employees or contractors.

We do not supervise the work, we do not guarantee that it will be done well, and we do not vet users beyond the identity checks our payment provider carries out. Use your judgement, read reviews, and meet sensibly.

Money

When you post a task, the budget is charged to your card immediately and held. It is not paid to anyone until both of you confirm the work is done.

Slougy charges the person doing the task a 10% service fee, which is deducted from what they receive. The amount shown on a task is what the poster pays; the amount shown to a worker before applying is what they will receive.

When both sides confirm, the worker is credited and can withdraw to their bank account through Stripe. Withdrawals are subject to a small transfer fee, shown before you confirm.

If a task is cancelled before it is done, the held payment is returned to the card it came from. Card refunds normally take five to ten business days to appear, which is your bank’s timing and not ours.

Your Slougy balance is money you have earned. It is not a bank account, it earns no interest, and it is not insured as a deposit.

How you must behave

Do not use Slougy to do anything illegal, dangerous, or dishonest. In particular, do not:

• Ask anyone to pay you outside Slougy for a task found on Slougy.

• Harass, threaten, discriminate against or abuse anyone.

• Post sexual, violent or hateful content, or anything that is not a genuine task.

• Impersonate anyone, or use someone else’s payment details.

• Post work that requires a licence you do not hold.

We remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules, and we report criminal behaviour to the authorities.

Reporting and blocking

Every profile, task and conversation can be reported from inside the app. We review reports within 24 hours and act on anything that breaks these terms, which may mean removing content, suspending an account, or removing it permanently.

You can block any user. Blocking is mutual: neither of you will see the other’s tasks, and neither can message the other.

We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. Accounts that post it are removed.

Reviews and content you post

Reviews must be honest and about work that actually happened. You own what you write and the photos you upload; you give us permission to display them in the app as part of running the service.

A review is public and cannot be edited once posted. You can delete a review you wrote.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we are required to.

Closing an account does not cancel obligations that already exist — a task in progress, a payment owed, or a refund due.

Our responsibility

We provide Slougy as it is. We do not promise that it will always be available or free of faults, and we are not responsible for what users do to each other or for the quality of work performed.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Quebec have jurisdiction.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Slougy after that means you accept the new version.
